Cancer prancer flancer, An Almighty Yes is a bittersweet solo comedy theatre show that thunders light on dark days and tough times, giving you way better things to think about.
A bloody cruddy brain cancer derailed Emma Lange’s life and then unexpectedly sparked awake her incurable humour, and this show reflects that.
She performs a roll call of persona, each highlighting a different facet of cancer: from the holy rolling pentecostal Deaconess Fanny Bribery who casts out disease riddled beelzebub in her comfy brogues and cast iron gusset; to a dancing sausage; to her intense plastic lover named Donny; and a wildly rip-roaring musical finale when all of Emma’s heavenly tiramisu dreams come true.
As someone who has faced chronic illness head on, Emma knows that positive thinking is a powerful tool and comedy is a remedy for both mental and physical illness.
This brand new work from re-emerging artist Emma Lange is inclusive and joyous, whilst not shying away from the realities of life and death.
It is a cloudburst of fresh air, music, comedy and enlightenment for all people dealing with challenges.
Her bold lycra clad tumour dance and dazzling beauty are eye watering and simply must be seen.
"Emma Lange is, without exception, the funniest person I have met. She breathes funny. She’s funny just in the way she blinks. We have all been waiting for this show for a long time — just for the sheer joy of spending an hour watching her breathe and blink.” — Michele A’Court
“We are all just choo-choo trains on the track she laid down.” — Justine Smith
