Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington

Presented by: Booth the Clown and Jak Darling

Two genderfluid powerhouses Booth the Clown and Jak Darling come together in holy(ish) matrimony to showcase their talents with wit, sparkle, and delight. They might not share a bed but they do share many skills including, music, magic, stand-up, poetry, puppetry, theatre, mime, clown, and... emus? Unapologetically queer, and unapologetically themselves, they unite showcasing the celebration of friendship focusing on queer celebration, not toleration.

Our two stars gravitated towards each other while performing in the Pōneke comedy scene. Coming together like a supernova with their near sellout debut season of Delightfool in the Wellington Fringe Festival 2024 winning the Auckland tour ready award and being nominated for the San Diego, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Dunedin Fringe tour ready awards. Followed by their Auckland Fringe Festival 2024 season that saw them crowned winners of outstanding theatre, outstanding collective, and the Dunedin tour ready awards. The Duo's making waves in the comedy scene becoming 2025 Billy T Nominees.

"To be silly is to be vulnerable, and to be vulnerable is to be strong. That’s the need that Delightfool fulfils. It’s laughter as rebellion. It’s joy as an act of resistance." - Sazzok (Sarah) Krieg, badapple reviews
