A couple of years in the future, a woman whose husband is running for office resists the role he casts her in. Meanwhile, in a refugee centre, a young woman tries to secure a future for herself and her father, a nurse tries to help as many people as he can, and a documentary filmmaker must navigate the borders of artistic integrity.

When the politician's wife volunteers as a nurse in the refugee centre, the characters' lives become entangled in an intricate web. "In times of war, truth and lies are one," and trying to do the right thing can lead to catastrophe.

The Politician's Wife, written in 2015 by Angie Farrow, is the debut production from AXIOM: directed by Ash Dawes and produced by Sahara Pohatu-Trow.

This production is possible thanks to the generous support of the DCC's Professional Theatre Fund, Creative New Zealand's Creative Communities Scheme, and the University of Otago's Performing Arts Fund.
