Otago Art Society at Dunedin Railway Station : Dunedin Fringe Festival

Otago Art Society at Dunedin Railway Station

Level 1, Dunedin Railway Station, 22 Anzac Avenue

Wheelchair / Accessible Access

This venue is wheelchair accessible via a side entrance to the main railway station building (ramp to the right of the main door if you’re facing the building). The ramp is 1140mm wide and has two handrails. The main entrance to the building is through double doors; when one door is open, the entrance is 650mm, and when both are open, it’s 1300mm. Note that the second door snibs at the top and the bottom, so a non-ambulatory wheelchair user would not be able to open it on their own.

There is an elevator on the opposite side of the foyer to the main staircase. Access to the lift is through a doorway that is 760mm wide. The lift entrances are both 870mm, and the lift itself is 1380mm by 1380mm with handrails on both sides.

When you exit the lift on the first floor, you come out onto a mezzanine, which is 1220mm wide. The doorway into the gallery space is 870mm.

There is no limit to the number of wheelchair users who can visit the venue at any one time.

Bathrooms

Both male and female toilets have wheelchair accessible stalls; there is no gender-neutral bathroom available. The doorways into the bathroom are 760mm with push/pull doors. The accessible stalls are 1900mm by 1600mm.

Approach to Venue

There are two reserved accessible parks outside the main entrance to the railway station, and an additional space outside the main doors for pick-up and drop-off.

Service Dogs

Service dogs are welcome in this venue.
