The Globe Theatre
104 London Street
Wheelchair / Accessible Access
This venue is wheelchair accessible via the main entrance. The doors to the venue are 1340mm wide when fully open. There are three stairs in the foyer down to the box office, but a volunteer or member of staff will be beside the door to the theatre to greet audience members.
There is a doorway from the box office through to the theatre space, and a ramp that allows a wheelchair user to get to the stage. The gap between the doorframe and the edge of the ramp is 800mm.
Wheelchair users can sit in the front row if they are able to transfer from their wheelchair to a seat. There is theoretically a single space for a wheelchair user who cannot transfer to a seat; contact the theatre for more information about this and the dimensions of this space. The stairs to the rest of the seating block are narrow (470mm).
Bathrooms
There are four gender-neutral bathrooms available at this venue, one of which is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms are accessed from the boardwalk (between the street and the entrance to the theatre), through a door that is 830mm wide. This door is heavy and difficult to open, but should be clipped open during performances to allow audience access. The bathroom stall doorway is 770mm, and the stall itself is 1870mm by 1670mm.
Approach to Venue
The venue is located at the top of a steep hill. There is a boardwalk from the street to the venue entrance; this is mostly flat but slopes down at first.
There is no reserved accessible parking but on-street parking is available on London Street.
Service Dogs
Service dogs are welcome in this venue.
